A few helpful
starting points.
Can we marry in Gibraltar if we live abroad?
Gibraltar provides a route for non-residents to marry by special licence, subject to the Registrar’s requirements. Your circumstances and documents will need to be checked before arrangements are finalised.
What documents will we need?
The Registry asks for identity and birth documents, with additional evidence depending on your circumstances, such as a previous marriage or a change of name. Refer to the official guidance for the full requirements.
How do we start planning with you?
Send us an enquiry with your preferred date, country of residence and an idea of your plans. If you haven’t settled on a date yet, that’s absolutely fine.
Where can we find the official requirements?
The Government of Gibraltar publishes the current marriage guidance and booking information. Read the official marriage guidance.
Practical information checked against Government of Gibraltar guidance on 26 September 2026. Requirements depend on your circumstances and may change; confirm the latest details with the Registry before booking travel.
